Green Schools
About Green School
Green-Schools’ mission is to protect planet Earth – our shared home to which we all belong. Promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment Green-Schools is a student-led programme with involvement from the wider community. The programme is operated and coordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce (FEE member for Ireland).
We are currently working towards our 7th Green Flag! Our theme this year is Global Citizenship - Travel.
Current Activities
The Green Schools Committee ran a very successful poster and poetry competition on the theme of Sustainable Travel. Other plans for this year include a No Idling campaign to improve the air quality around our school and bike safety and maintenance workshops in the lead up to Bike Week in May.
